Many people find it hard to move ahead in life because they are waiting for "karma" to come around. Karma is bullshit because we all go through bad things and all get punished for the mistakes we make one way or another. We want to see people who hurt us get hurt worse. We commit ourselves to seeing people have more baggage than we have.
IF YOU ARE ONE OF THESE PEOPLE, YOU PROBABLY HAVE UNRESOLVED PAST ISSUES
Ok, lets hypothetically say you got out of a breakup 2 years ago and your ex cheated on you. There's no reason you should still want "karma" to come around to her. You see, unresolved past issues are the things that hinder our physical and mental growth. If you are still bear hugging baggage from years ago, then you probably haven't done much to improve yourself. Your improvement will show when you react to outside stimuli.
I'll give you the story of getting my ass beat. My old friends were with me in McDonalds after the gym. Some guy comes and presses me after we walk out for my phone. I told him let's fight. He said he doesn't fight he only shoots. My heart dropped. Not trying to give away my phone, I punched that guy in his face. My body was too sore to inflict any real damage on him. That night I got my ass beat. I tried to take that fight on alone because I thought I could win. My friends seen me take a major asswhooping and just watched( One ran across the street.). People in the drive thru were just watching it and laughing. That guy tried to pull the gun out and end me. I walked in the house after that asswhooping and collapsed. My ego was in tatters, I was going through a heartbreak, and I had a swollen face. That's when I started to see some of the brutal truths about life. Nobody cares about men. The weak get destroyed and there will be no sympathy for it. Some of my other old friends didn't even come with me to the hospital. They left me to go smoke weed because they were "too scared". This event traumatized me for awhile, as I would travel everywhere with a kitchen knife for a long period of time. I realized that being too nice and too giving to people doesn't mean a damn thing. You're not entitled to anyone's support or protection just because you've been there for them. We all are governed by self interest, which means people will do what's best for them, even at your expense. Stop trying to negotiate desire. Rely on your own strength instead of somebody else's compassion. Being too nice and always willing to sacrifice for other people ruined me not just in this event, but in friendships, relationships, professional situations, etc.
Start Writing About Your Past Issues
Whether it's music, poems, or just a personal journal, writing about your issues is a great way to help you get over your past issues. Getting physically stronger helps too because your mental strength and clarity will improve as well. As I started to write about these issues, I started to feel much better overtime. Be willing to spend at least 15 minutes a day writing about things you've went through to process your feelings. A lot of us don't realize this, but we some of our daily actions have a lot to do with turmoil we have faced in the past. We mostly think of the past so we could know what not to do in the future. We all have strengths and weaknesses, but if we don't write about ourselves we will never know who we are as people. If you feel pain when you think and or write about things in the past, you're carrying it like a weight ( These are words from Jordan Peterson.). Take this advice. I hope I provided some value to you all. Stay strong and never give up.
