Pain....

04/22/2020

The feeling when you were discarded by the person you thought you felt the feeling of love for. The feeling when you put up with a lot of crap from people. The moment you realized you're not as important as you thought you were. The moment you realized when hard times hit, everyone is going to leave you alone. The feeling you get when you've failed over and over and over again. The feeling when you keep coming up short, especially when you're dependent upon an outcome. The feeling when you have no choice but to face yourself in the mirror and claim yourself as the captain of your ship. TO realize that your life is the way it is as a result of your thinking.

TO get my heartbroken was painful. To get popped on by my old friends was painful. For my old friends to watch me get my ass beat was painful. To think I was someone important before the world came crashing down on me, was unequivocally painful. Invariably I woke up to a truth that is inevitable: We will all be a person who caused pain in someone's life, as well as cause pain in our own.

I've left people during their hardships. You have too. I've betrayed people's trust, you have too. I've broken people's hearts, you have too. Nobody is the paragon of virtue that they think they are. I don't care how heartless anyone thinks they are, it hurts more to hurt someone than it was for people to hurt me. However in life, it's better to hurt yourself to protect your integrity and self respect, because they are painful.

Painful is cutting off friends because you want to be successful. Painful is doing hundreds of push-ups in the house. Painful is saying no to soda and those delicious cookies that your unhealthy family has brought into the house. Painful is putting in those extra hours to get the money to invest in yourself. Painful is reading 48- 52 books a year. Painful is learning to walk away from business models that aren't suitable for your financial emancipation. Painful is saying no to drugs, TV, porn, following fads, junk food, and celebrity gossip, all things that help you hide from doing the work to live a life worth living. We're all guilty of these things.

Do you see the pattern with this whole blog post that I'm reading? Everything hurts in the short term, but benefits you in the long run. What's hard now makes life easier later, and what's easy now, will make life hell. That painful break up taught you how to be alone. Losing friends gave you more time to focus on yourself. A girl rejecting you saved you a lot of time from a manipulative time waster. People leaving you to dry, which we will all do to someone and people will do to us, will force us to grow. Where you are right now in life is a result of what you were willing to suffer for. If you can bench 225 for 20+ reps, is because you went through the pain of training, and diet, over and over and over again. Same thing with education, and other pinnacles you've reached over the years.

There's no such thing as security in this lifetime. Why be risk adverse? Pain is an inevitable vilification of your mind and heart. What are you willing to suffer for? Let go of those bad friends, they don't really care about you. Let go of the junk food and soda, add in some exercise, and slowly but surely the weight will start coming off. Self preservation is painful, but a lofty goal nonetheless.
